The aims of the Association are:
- To consult on, & to establish, maintain & improve the standards of theological education
- To provide;
- Accreditation as an instrument for encouraging quality theological education through its member schools in the Pacific Islands,
- Advocacy for women in theological education as in Weavers,
- The advocacy of equal opportunities for men & women, clergy & laity in the theological education in church ministry.
- A medium to stimulate theological thinking & writing through contribution published by the Pacific Journal of Theological.
- Capacity Building for all member schools.
- Other services to member institutions.
- To promote ecumenical fellowship & collaboration among the member institutions to further the mission of the church in the Pacific
- To foster research fields related to theological education in the Pacific
