Aims & Objectives

The aims of the Association are:

  1. To consult on, & to establish, maintain & improve the standards of theological education
  2. To provide;
    • Accreditation as an instrument for encouraging quality theological education through its member schools in the Pacific Islands,
    • Advocacy for women in theological education as in Weavers,
    • The advocacy of equal opportunities for men & women, clergy & laity in the theological education in church ministry.
    • A medium to stimulate theological thinking & writing through contribution published by the Pacific Journal of Theological.
    • Capacity Building for all member schools.
    • Other services to member institutions.
  3. To promote ecumenical fellowship & collaboration among the member institutions to further the mission of the church in the Pacific
  4. To foster research fields related to theological education in the Pacific
  5. To act as liaison with
    • The church of the region
    • Other association of theological school
    • Education bodies
    • Other agencies engaged in theological education
    • Other ecumenical institution
    • Partners
